Snæfellsnes & Kirkjufell, small group tour (08:00 / 11 hrs) (G13)
Experience “Iceland in Miniature” on the enchanting Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where dramatic glacier-capped volcanoes meet iconic mountain peaks, rugged lava fields, sweeping coastal views, historic churches, and picturesque fishing villages – all in a single day
You’ll be picked up in Reykjavík for a full-day tour where the landscapes shift from open fields to rugged lava formations, and every stop offers new natural wonders. You’ll visit the iconic black church at Búðir, walk along the dramatic cliffs between Arnarstapi and Hellnar, and explore the black pebble beach Djúpalónssandur with shipwreck remnants and historic lifting stones. Towering above it all is the mighty glacier volcano Snæfellsjökull, which inspired Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth.
No visit is complete without a stop at Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most photographed mountains, known as “Arrowhead Mountain” in Game of Thrones, with the beautiful Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall at its base.
Before returning to Reykjavík, we stop in Borgarnes for a taste of a classic Icelandic hot dog, completing a day full of spectacular scenery and cultural highlights.
