Participate in "My Magical Iceland" – Vulkan's annual photo contest, now open to everyone! With even bigger prizes and monthly chances to win, we welcome submissions from Iceland enthusiasts all over the world. You can also use our gift cards to experience Vulkan Travel's products and services in Iceland and soon in Norway as well. Seize the opportunity to show off your magical Iceland!

HOW THE WINNERS ARE SELECTED

A dedicated jury consisting of Vulkan employees will carefully select the monthly winners. The 2024 My Magical Iceland winners will be voted by you, our community.

How can I participate?

Now it's easier than ever to participate in My Magical Iceland. You can choose between using our media uploader or tagging us on Instagram.

Media uploader

Upload your photos and videos with our new media uploader directly here on our website. You can participate with multiple images or video clips, and you are welcome to participate every month – except if you have already been selected as a monthly winner once.

  1. Follow us on Instagram @vulkantravelgroup
  2. Post your photos or videos on Instagram and use the hashtag #mymagicaliceland and tag us with @vulkantravelgroup.
  3. Make sure your Instagram account is public - otherwise, we won't receive your submission.

Monthly Photo

Each month, we present different suggestions for themes that we think fit each month. These monthly themes are intended as a guide to inspire you to share your unique moments in Iceland.

Each monthly winner will be rewarded with:

  • a gift card worth 80 GBP.
  • the opportunity to compete for the coveted annual prize – a generous gift card worth a whopping 750 GBP!
  • unique exposure on our websites and social media, where your photos will inspire a wide international audience.

Picture of the Year

Once we have announced all the monthly winners for 2024 on January 5, 2025, they will be featured on this page. Then, you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite until January 31, 2025. On February 5, 2025, we will announce the Picture of the Year and the winner of My Magical Iceland 2024.

The winner of My Magical Iceland 2024 will receive: 

  • a gift card worth 750 GBP, transferable to another person and valid until December 31, 2026.
  • unique exposure on the front page of all our websites for 1 month.
  • exposure on social media, where your photos will inspire a wide international audience.

Monthly Themes

Below you can see all the competition months for the year 2024. Keep in mind, we're seeking photos where you take center stage – immersed in the adventure! Share your moment! Brief information about each month's theme can be found by clicking on the respective month's image. Use the "Upload your media" button to upload your contributions via our media uploader. It's only possible to upload images for the current month. The winning image of the month will be published on the 1st of the following month, at the same time the next month will be open for submissions.

How to participate

  • Vulkan's photo contest "My Magical Iceland" is now open to everyone. Everyone is welcome to participate, and the winner will no longer need to verify with a booking number.
  • Participation in our contests is completely free, and we do not require any purchase.
  • Post a photo or video on Instagram with the hashtag #mymagicaliceland and tag @vulkantravelgroup. Follow @vulkantravelgroup. It is required that the contestant's Instagram account is public for the contest entry to be valid.
  • You can also upload your contest entries directly from the website using our new media uploader.

Prizes

  • Monthly winners (10): A gift card worth 80 GBP from Vulkan Travel and a final spot in the contest to win "My Magical Iceland 2024" and a Vulkan Travel gift card worth 750 GBP!
  • Yearly winner: A gift card worth 750 GBP from Vulkan Travel.

How the winners are chosen

Monthly winners:

  • A dedicated jury of Vulkan Travel staff members selects a winner each month.
  • The jury judges the entries based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme "My Magical Iceland".

Winner of My Magical Iceland 2024:

  • You and our community vote for the winner!
  • All monthly winners for 2024 will be presented on our website on January 5, 2025.
  • You can vote for your favorite photo until January 31, 2025.
  • The winner of "My Magical Iceland 2024" and the photo of the year will be announced on February 5, 2025.

Other conditions

  • You must be 18 years or older to participate.
  • Gift cards cannot be redeemed or exchanged for any other form of prize but can be transferred to another person and are valid until December 31, 2026.
  • The winner will be contacted via Instagram and must respond within 14 days.
  • Any prize tax is paid by the winner.
  • Employees of Vulkan Travel Group cannot participate.
  • By participating, you agree that Vulkan Travel Group may use your images and videos for marketing purposes.

  • The contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram.
  • By competing, you agree to allow us to publish your name, or alternatively tag your social profile when presenting the winner.
