Caving & Golden Circle

10 hours Fr. £ 143

Your day begins with a visit to the world under a lava field, outside of Reykjavík where the exciting underworld lava tunnels can be explored. The lava caves gives an interesting insight into how Iceland was created.
Following this, you will travel to a meeting place where you can purchase lunch and wait for the next bus (arriving at roughly 1 PM for the afternoon's activities).

First stop of the afternoon is the beautiful national park Thingvellir, a UNESCO World heritage site. The world’s first parliament assembled here around the year 900, and this is also the meeting point for the European and the American continental plates. At Thingvellir, the crack that appears when these two continents slowly slide away from each other is very apparent.

Next stop is at the geothermic hot springs at Geysir, including Iceland’s most active geysir Strokkur. Strokkur spurts its powerful cascade of hot water out of the ground at regular 5-minute intervals, so you will have several opportunities to see the majestic cascades of water being thrown towards the sky. Take a wander among bubbling mud muddles and steaming underground springs – and really feel the Earth’s powerful core under your feet.

We then continue to the famous and mighty Gullfoss, “the golden waterfall”, which is by many judged as the most beautiful in Iceland. The waterfall has two stages, and it's possible to get close up to the mighty water cascading over the ledges into the ravine below.
