Walk through Ice and Fire
Hot springs and Glaciers
This excursion combines two of Iceland’s highlights – hot springs and glaciers. This 2-3 hour hiking trip takes place in the geothermic area of Hengill, located only 45 minutes drive from Reykjavík. Our path goes along the foot of the old volcano Hengill, and we pass several hot springs where relaxing baths may be enjoyed on the way to the valley Reykjadalur. Once there we use a car (1 hour and 45 minutes transfer) to reach the Mýrdalsjökull glacier the biggest in Iceland. At the glacier we put on crampons and glacier equipment, and start to explore the wonderful landscape of ice formations, ice hills and deep crevasses that hide the intense blue of the ice. The excursion offers exciting activities in spectacular surroundings!!
