Birdwatching at Látrabjarg

Join us on this tour, which starts the day bright and early and heads north from Reykjavik towards the town of Stykkishólmur on the north shore of Snæfellsnes peninsula.

At Stykkishólmur harbour we board the Ferry Baldur for a 3 hour cruise across the beautiful Breiðafjörður Bay that offers fantastic seascapes and some of the most diverse and abundant bird life in Iceland. Reaching the other side at Brjánslækur village the tour continues to the remote bird cliff Látrabjarg that marks the westernmost part of Europe.

Stretching for more that 14 km and up to 444 m high, Látrabjarg is one of the most crowded bird cliffs on the planet with an array of bird species such as the Puffin, Northern Gannet, Guillemot, and Razorbill. Spend time watching and photographing birds in their thousands, take in the fresh ocean breeze and enjoy the most expansive view out to the seas and over the rugged west fjords.

On the way back we will board Ferry and enjoy a relaxing summer evening journey tracing the route back to Reykjavik.
